Day 11: Day off to organize and avoid the storms
I woke up well rested at 7 am. I am beginning to get away from my night sleeping pattern and get more into my traveling sleeping pattern. That is get up early, rock out the full day, dinner and asleep shortly after sunset. Sandy made me pancakes with home made maple syrup. It was so good. I chatted with Sandy and Emma a bit and then they were off to the Twin Cities for a concert. They left me a vehicle to drive into Grand Rapids. I updated some web tings and then took off to town. I brought my camera gear as I wanted to photograph the paper mill in town. I got there but did not find any luck on making that happen. I will try again tomorrow. I got the number for a portage service that the power company offers as a courtesy to paddlers. I called and set things up for when I arrive tomorrow. I grabbed a bite to eat and then the rain I was waiting for began to fall. I headed back to Sandy and Jeff’s place to finish working on images and this blog updates. The rain intensified with a few heavy storms mixed in. I talked with Jeff when he got home from work and ended up having a relaxing night of work. Now, the blogs are caught up. Time to shower, repack, and get a good nights sleep for a possibly rainy, but amazing day tomorrow.
