Jacobson to 25 miles later.<\/p>\n
After a night of flood concerns, I got up without it raining. I broke down camp and headed up the hill to find more water. I was looking around this closed co-op trying to find a hose. A neighbor asked me if he could help. He invited me into the oldest house in Jacobson, which is a very small town. The house was built in 1867. It was in rough shape, but it did not bother me. I thanked the guy and I headed back to the boat as rain was coming my way. I jumped I and started moving, just as the rain began. It rained on and off all day. I was not thinking too much today as j was just enjoying the river. It was lined with heavy trees on both sides. There would be the occasional house, cabin, of farm as the day flowed along.
\n I approached this Dutch barn on the right hand side of the river. I stopped to get a few shots of it from the river. I started back I the current when I decided to turn arou d and paddle back up to it. I tied up to a tree and made my way up to it. There were just too many opportunities to capture. After I left, I stopped at the house of Tim and Jean. They had a nice little place that I thought it would be good to eat lunch. They invited me into their covered porch to chat with me as I made my lunch. They just moved into the place about a year ago. They offered to pose for me before I left. You never know where I may be able to use those images.
\n The rain was one thing today, which I am prepared and ready. The unrelenting wind was something else. It did not let up all day, hence I only was able to do 25 miles. I looked at my phone and there was a severe storm and flood warning. The storm was to hit me in about 10 minutes. It did not even take that long. It began comi g down with some intensity. I needed to got off the water pretty quickly with the heavy thunder catching up to me.
\n I pulled up to the house of Bob Snyder. He offered me a winter shack he had built. I was all game because the storm was about to get nasty. I pulled my gear in and chatted with Bob as the storm line passes. I was glad to have gotten when I did because the lightening was intense.
