I woke up to cloudy skies and a chance of rain. That chance happened as I was opening my eyes. I did not have the rain fly on and I did not want to set it up. I did not want to carry a wet top. So, I moved\u2026. really quickly. I had everything broke down in a few minutes. I put the gear in the dry bags just as it stopped. Oh well, I guess I was awake. I was told to go to the Wild Goose for breakfast. It was a little hike up the road, but I was assured it was worth it. I hiked up there. I ordered what the waitress said was the largest breakfast. She told me that would fill me up. Well, it didn’t. I was not too impressed as I told her what I was doing. I ended up ordering another breakfast. I ended up spending $20.00 for a breakfast that was simply ok. I was not impressed.
\nI hitched a ride back to the marina. I picked up some Gatorades at the marina and then headed out. I only had 15 miles to get to the Alton, IL marina. It was that or go all the way to St. Louis. I wanted to go to this bar called Fast Eddies. I was recommended it from multiple people for the past few days. I also knew I would be getting wet that evening and the next day. It did not take long before I made it to the Alton Marina.
\nI pulled in and asked the harbor master if I could tie up for a day. She agreed. I told her I would go out and capture some cool images for her letting me stay there. She said I could go set up under the covered picnic area. She showed me where the laundry machines were and the showers too. It would be a good place to set up for the night. I set up under the shelter as the storms rolled in. I was thankful to be out of the rain. I went out between the storms to capture bridge and marina shots. Once I get some time, I will process them and send them to her. I managed to get to the deli before they closed up that night. I got a hot ruben that tasted amazing under the shelter with the rain coming down. It was a low key day, but another good one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
